Gosforth Scout Group

On certain evenings each week during term time, you may hear strange noises coming from the school playing field or the Scout Hut. Well, this is probably not due to some strange beast lurking there, but is more likely to be the Scouts, Cubs or Beavers enjoying a game under cover of darkness.

Gosforth Scout group has been running for a number of decades, helping local children to discover the wonderful world that we live in.

This last year we have taken part in games and crafts, tried canoeing and ice skating, enjoyed trips to local castles, beaches, lakes and forests, joined in with the fun run, learnt some first aid, and enjoyed a weekend at Ennerdale Scout Camp Site.

We have a dedicated team of leaders, most of whom have been helping for around ten years, and now we definitely need more volunteers. So if you think you have a little spare time, get on well with youngsters, and enjoy the great outdoors, we would love to hear from you! It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old, male or female, or how much experience you have – you just need to be enthusiastic!
